STONES IN THE WAY: APOGEE AND DOWNFALL
collection, intervention, return, reflection, Porto, 2022
The project “Stones on the way: apogee and fall” seeks to create a metaphor about the body x matter relationship through material collection and the short story Clarisse, by Italo Calvino. The attempt to build and recover the lost memory of this city that was and will no longer be alludes to the walking of the body, which in its trajectory stumbles, falls and rises again. The dislocated, misfit and invisible stone represents the individual, the one who is subjugated by everyday life and by this timeline of society, sometimes ascending, sometimes in a vertiginous fall. What is the correct measure of the body in space? How to fit in?... Should we even fit in?
