UNMATTER

Following the concern that leads to the ongoing research proposal - Material Memory - the work in Unmatter revolved around the attempt to reconstruct a lost memory, through photography, montage and speculation about the territory. Using a Widelux FX5 analog camera, a collection of images taken from negatives was manipulated in various ways, printed and reprinted. The handling of materiality, in the search for the reconstitution of memory, is inherent to the investigation and the detours along the way are part of this attempt to give visuality to something that is fundamentally immaterial. The more it moves, the more it fades.
